20ft swells close Pismo pier

The Pismo Pier was closed Sunday at around 1 p.m. by Pismo Beach Police as a precaution due to a high surf, which climbed the beach to the bottom of base of the pier.“We're expecting 20 foot swells this afternoon,” police Sgt. Mark Miller said Sunday at about 4:30.He expected the pier to stay closed through the night, but said the night crew would monitor wave activity and make decisions based on
